Default ProComp HEI

Has anyone used the ProComp 6001 HEI sold on Ebay for $50? Are they any good? I'm looking to replace my HEI in a 77 Vette, slightly modified.
Thanks

I think that those work just fine and I don't see a problem if you don't mind running chinese stuff on your car..

I have used two of them from Skip White performance off ebay and they have a real good curve.
I couldn't care less if its made in china, the guy I bought it from was an American so he made money to!

i have had one in my car since last november and last weekend
helped wuttin install one in his 79 and for the price all i can say is

the only extras needed to make it perfect will be the recurve kit springs and possibly shims for the gear but it can be installed and run as is with great performance increase over stock.

What is wrong with your present HEI, that you believe a replacement system would be an improvement?

While I had it out for a cam change , I noticed it was very rusty inside(weights and advance). Also, I had a MSD6A in it at one time and it ran must better. This HEI seems to fall on it's face, performance wise (doesn't Rev high).
