Default Body Mount Removal------ HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I am trying to change the body mounts on my 1981 coupe. I have the bolts out of the 8 body mounts, I have the brake lines disconnected and I removed the fan/clutch. Is there anything else I must remove before I try and lift the body enough to clear the mounts? Does anyone know if I must disconnect any wiring? I have had enough trouble getting the bolts out and I really don't want to break anything else.
Also, anyone that reads this should check their mounts, my mount bolts were rusted beyond saving. Four of them broke and the holes around the mounts are totally rusted. Everything looks great from the outside, but when I opened the access doors it was a mess.
Thanks for any help I really apperciate it because I have parts all over the place.

It depends on how far you plan to lift the body. don't forget the shifter linkage and antenna wire. you will need to watch radiator support if you lift the front at all. look at rear bumper and how it is attached to the frame. go slow and keep checking as you lift.
good Luck and let me know how it ends. I plan on doing my 73 this winter/spring.

Just lifted the body on my '67 coupe http://www.computersupport.ca/Restoration/Corvette.htm

There were 72 items to disconnect for a complete lift (73 in my case counting the rollbar).

Have you thought of:
- wires to starter, coil, alternator, etc.
- ground straps (several small ones around the car from frame up to things like antenna)
- gas line (at fuel pump)
- steering column (at rag joint)
- clutch rod (if standard)
- radiator
- hood
- doors (I did - lots lighter and wanted them off anyway)
- accelerator linkage
- front and rear bumpers
- lots more.....just can't think of any right now.

I had 73, but maybe you're only lifting a few inches and could miss a lot of these?

Good luck!

Everybody told me there is always one thing you forget..."Nah, I'm smart guy"....I forgot the cable that bolts/anchors the seat belts to the frame, watch that :smash:

There is a very good, photo illustrated article in the latest issue of "VETTE" magazine about this very subject.
