i am running that same spring & arm setup your looking @ currently. downside is no one makes a swaybar that will work with this setup. thinking of changing to a dual mount spring system in the near term.
what i mean by stance is the cars ride height. after i installed the wheel /tire combo, my car looked too high and showed too much inner fender well area. you may have to lower the car to obtain the desired balance / look.
You won’t believe how much time you saved me in searching for those wheels. I truly appreciate it …. I owe you one.
Hopefully someone from VAN STEEL will read your comment and fabricate a sway bar for our set up. Meanwhile, I think it’s not that hard to fabricate one.
In terms of stance, your car looks just fine, In fact, your LT-1 is one of the best looking C3’s I’ve seen … honest.
I’m planning to go as low as I could, however, there is this big ramp at home where my car sits. I will either modify the ramp or the vett or maybe both to go as low as possible.
I modified my rar sway bar to fit. It works great. Click on my picturetrail acount below to see how I did it, or do a search under my username, Bee Jay.
Just checked your site and that work you've done on your sway bar. Very nice work, looks easy.
I couldn't help not notice those willwoods ... How are they compared to stock calipers ? Good job anyways
They stop as good or maybe better than stock. I think the improvement came mostly from the high performance pads. The biggest benefit is the weight savings. I lost over 44lbs of unsprung weight.
Once you get those larger wheels, 17" + you can upgrade your brakes with my new package putting C-5 calipers and 13" rotors on the front. My package comes complete with everything you for the front or a package with the front and rear. The rear remains C-3, but the rotors, powder coating, lines and pads can all be fresh and match.
I will have the kit ready for shipment within the next two to three weeks. I will be posting a pic next week.

Just saw this thread and I have similar questions for my 71 vert if anyone can help. It currently has a VB&P dual mount monoleaf in the rear with stock t/a's. The body has glassed-in flares (about 2"-3" additional width). The rear sway bar is currently disconnected. I would like to run as wide a wheel and tire combination as possible without any major mods. I want them to come out to the edge of the flare without extending past. I am looking at an 18" diameter wheel but want to get feedback on the best width and offset combination for this application. How about the front? what is everyone running up front for width and offset. I have a VB&P monoleaf and tubular a-arms top and bottom. Thanks in advance for the feedback.
