454 head question ?????
1974 LS4..............781 heads.
What cc heads are the original 781s ?
and
What does the cc number refer to ?

The stock heads vary. The books say any where from 118 to 122 cc's. You need to measure.
CC's are cubic cetimeters of space the heads have in the compression chamber.
When you check compression you need to know the cc of the heads to figure the compression (along with other numbers).
The smaller the cc of a head the higher compression of the motor.
Simplified, hope it helps.

Yes....with the stock (781) 118 cc heads and bored 30 over....my 454 is now a 460.
