Does that dist have both mech & vac advances? ... both preferred for most carbed street motor. If not, perhaps advances could be retrofitted.

Man that's a whole new thing for me. I actually have a kit to add adjustable vac advance to my dizzy but I have no idea how it works or how to adjust it. When I buy the new distributor I will be installing it and will probably need help adjusting it.

No vacuum or mechanical advance. All done by the e.c.m. and module. Don't know if it can be modded.

That's just what I thought. module is probably 5 or 7 pin ... not the 4 pin found in early HEI.

This could be the reason why the previous owner sold it....

Default xfire

Until the "new" Accel ... The corrected caps have been sold for years... they were/are a modified stock cap ... often marketed under an ill-fated but appropriate name: "crossfire cap" ... those modded caps have a bad reputation for doing just what they're named. The Accel is a new design that's "supposed" to have remedied the old modded caps' problems. Maybe not, I dunno?

here's some history of crossfire cap:

Just some extra info. The computer controlled distributor will not be a bolt on conversion to use non computer guts. The module screws are not even in the same location. I have a modded one in my street/drag car. Modded the terminal that the module plugs to. Drilled mounting holes in the base. No advance at all. Very simple set up. Locked in at 36*. No springs and weights to go bad no vacuum canister. Works great, but not recomended for a daily driver. I would just sell that cap.
