Ok after checking for leaks (none) and bleeding the brakes, the brake light is still on and the pedal goes to the floor. Is there anyway to confirm that it is the master cylinder?
Also does it need to be bench bled? if so how?
82 Corvette by the way.

Probably not the mastercylinder. The light comes on because of a pressure differential on the caliper side of the block. There is probably air in either the front or rear line somewhere. That creates an imballance in the system and makes the shuttle in the valve shift to the low side, turning on the light.
Keep bleeding them, its in there
Just to make sure, you don't have silicone brake fluid in there or mixed it with the non-silicone stuff? That will create problems. If you have an all-silicone system, it can be hard as hell to get all the air bled out. If you have the two types mixed, you have a real problem as they're incompatible and will create just such a situation. The only fix is to completely flush the system and get it completely dry before refilling it.
It's probably correct you simply have air in the line and nothing more, but it did ring a bell of possibility.
