Default Cam change,sound difference question

The engine in my 77 is a stock 79 Camaro 350 4 barrel.
Im going to add a Comp Cams 470/270 cam
Along with a Low rise al intake, Quadrajet and 1.52 roller rockers.
I have headers, 2.5 pipe and 40 series Delta flows.
Right now it sounds stock and don't miss a beat just bla bla bla bla bla......... What is the exhaust going to sound like with the cam change?
I would like to know the stock cam specs to compare the other cam with but Haven't found them anywhere.
I was going to run the Comp Cam 480/280 but decided against it thinking the engine might become a low end dog and with no stall it wouldn't idle very good?

Thats a nice step up from stock. I put a 224/224 cam in a fairly stock 350 and it bumped the power quite a bit. It wont have a race car idle but it does produce a slight rumble. Sounds very nice and still has plenty of power right off idle.

With your CR and an auto, that was a good call.

L-48 195 202 @.050 .390 .410 112LS smooth idle.
Edelbrock Performer 2102 for 350 C.I.- 204 214 @.050 112LS

Edelbrock Performer 2103 for 400 C.I.- 214 214 @.050 112LS
Comp 260H 212 212 @.050 110LS is good for stock auto. Comp calls "good" idle as opposed to smooth.

Comp 268H 218 218 @.050 110LS would have a nice cammed idle w/ auto., though putting it in an old engine w/ low compression could result in it not coming alive until about 3000.

Comp 280H is too much for stock stall 350.

Thanks.
I tend to over cam alot!
When I got this vette I was really going to over do an engine and just cruise up and down the city streets, but the frame, suspension and brakes are so good I think I want to drive it some!!!

I am running that cam in a GM LM1 short block with L98 alum heads, about 9.8:1 comp with headers, H-Pipe and 40's; gives a nice slightly loppy grumble at about 800 rpm idle and the h-pipe helped reduce the resonance at cruise speeds. In first gear with my 3.70 it pulls strong from idle to about 5000 which suits my needs, at least for now

I'm currently running a Crane 266 energizer. 210/210 .440/.440 110lsa
(.469 lift w/ my 1.6 rockers)

It is fairly smooth but not "grandma smooth" like the stock cam.

The summit 1103 sounds like a pretty good cam. You just don't want to go overboard with a stock auto. The comp 268 I think would be the most that I would run with my auto.

Seems as I get older I tend to lean more twords a smoother idle.
Still like the sound of a hard hitting engine though!

I have the comp. 268H in a 383 and it has a slight rupity idle at about 700 rpm. The power band is good. Its a good street cam.

I have had a Comp 268H cam in my engine for about 10 years now. With headers and a chambered exhaust the idle sounds is great.
