Ash tray cover??

Ash tray cover??
When I got my '71 coupe several years ago the ash tray cover was missing. I ordered a new one and also 'guides' from Ecklers. How the F*^K to I put the cover in? Do I have to remove my console? What a 'bubba' job........

Yes if it's anything like the 81 the ash tray is part of the center console and the console has to be taken off to attach the lid.

Lube up the plastic slides with a little bit of white lithium grease while you are at it. I repainted my console about 2 - 3 months ago and "refreshed" everything. Ashtray door opens and closes just like new.
