Default Door lock release

Drivers door lock on my '68 won't operate door is now locked and will not open - guess 39 years of operation has taken its toll.

- Question to all -- is there a release button/metal tab one can access from the top of the door, with the window down, to unlatch the lock. Hardware which holds the door panel is hidden by soft trim so I cannot easliy take the panel off to replace the lock mechanism without doing damage. I checked '68 AIM and shop manuals but little info to help.

Solved the stuck door lock problem on my '68 - sprayed lock assy with carb cleaner with the window down - evidenly loosen accumulated crap. Got the suggestion by doing a search of the C3 Corvette forum site. Posting accumulated experiences always a great help!! .

Now thats its open its time to fix it. you need to remove the latch assy and clean and relube it. Could be something as simple as a bent rod
