Windscreen washer has decided to pack up delivering the water. Can hear the pump working but no water. I know the pump is under the wiper unit but exactly where I can't spot it. Also, how the hell do youi remove the washer bottle for cleaning as that may be bunged up, that seems impossible to get out.
You didn't mention what year vette, but on my 76, the pump and wiper motor are all a complete unit, had to replace it a while back, got it at Advanced Auto for not alot of money as I recall....
Pull the hose that goes to the washer fluid tank and blow on the hose, if you can't get bubbles in the tank, that's your problem, plugged at the screen in the tank probably, if you get bubbles, the pump is dead and time for a new wiper motor unit....good luck
Removed hoses from washer and blew into them, no bubbles in the tank, could this mean the tank is bunged up. I have never cleaned the tank out and it does look a bit stagnant in there. Does anyone know how to remove the tank without a lot of aggravation or is there another way to clean it out. can't get the base of the tank to remove any pipes. As I said when I press the washer button, I can hear the pump working (I think)
W/ engine off, it's easy to tell if pump is working.
If pump is working it is usually the nozzles at windshield clogged. A small wire can be used to open. Disconnect hoses & run pump which will normally clear hoses- but normally not the nozzles.
