Just my luck!
So I decide to replace most of the rear end... Well the problem is, I am running on a short schedule because I had planned on to driving to Bloomington Gold again this year. With less than a week a way, and Mid America being about 80 miles from where I live... I felt that buying from them would be the fastest and easiest way to get the car running quick....
I run over there on saturday and order some parts for the vette... Sunday, I jacked the rear end up pretty high and start working... Here, I realized how much the previous owner BSed me when I bought the car. The suspension looks like it has never even been touched... With 34 years of driving and Illinois weather... Alot of stuff was frozen on there... After my dad got done cutting some of the suspension with a torch.. I tried to figure out how I can get the parts I need quick!
So I opened up a mid-america catalog and thought I saw that their store was open from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m(Customer Service). Since I get off work at 3:30, the hour and half drive would put me at 5... So today, once I got off work, I headed towards M.A.M. After getting stuck behind SLOW drivers I manage to get there before 5:30... I tried going into their retail store but it was all closed... So I called them, and asked them what time they closed.... 5:00p.m.!!!!
This is the part that ticks me off!! I tried to convince the guy to let me buy the one part I needed, but he only made excuses saying he couldn't get the part because all the workers had left! Only problem is, its hard for me to believe that when right across from me was the warehouse with about 20 vehicles in the parking lot, an empty UPS truck, and a FedEX truck!! It was quite obvious the UPS truck was empty because the rear door was open with only one or two boxes! If they didn't want to sell me the part that was fine... Just don't lie to me!
Hope no ones luck is as bad as mine!
