How to paint chrome???
I stripped the paint off the side egg crate grills to find the entire grill is chromed. The top ridges which are supposed to be exposed are polished and the rest of the grill is an unpolished chrome. I would like to use a Krylon primer, then put 2 coats of Krylon black on, then scrape the paint off the polished top edges and then put a clear coat of acrylic on. I am assuming because this is not a high-wear area, it would last for a few years. Any thoughts?

Agree with 427V8. Mask the edges and run an an exacto knife down the sides of each edge, then paint away. When you scrape the paint off the chrome, you may end up scraping the chrome. Better to take your time, do it the hard way and be safe rather than sorry. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
