pulley questions please
small block 350.
only balancer i have around the house, is old small style for 327, so dont think it will work. Pulleys look off line with it on there, so will pull it and get a basic parts house one.
question is...do you use standard small block pulleys? its a/c, power steering, etc, but looks like belts will be close to the frame.
also what is the width or diameter of the power steering pulley?
i got a complete pump with pulley and brackets off an ebay vette guy, but considering the cradle bracket was wrong, now thinking about the rest of it. rebuilt pump though, and cant imagine they made a special pump for the vette.
i have a new stock 3 groove crank pulley, billet waterpump 2 groove, new sanderson compressor from vintage air and new alternator with new pulley. Just before I bolt it all in, want to make sure basic pulleys work.
thanks, know its a dumb question, but looked close on mock up. mounts are new and in original place, originally small block car, frame is redone so no damage, so its sitting where it should be sitting.
The area that usually causes problems is the water pump pulley.
For the stock pulleys to line up one needs the corvette specific water pump. and the pulley to fit it.
Attached is a link to a set of after market pulleys I put on my 73. I am real happy with this set up.
