Default No Fuel

76 was in an accident, the front end was totalled, while I am waiting on their insurance company to decide what to do I stripped the front end off. The fuel pump was broken in the wreck and the full tank of fuel was lost. I installed a new pump and put about three gallons of fuel in it. I can pour gas in the carb and it runs for a bit but the fuel pump has not picked up the fuel from the tank. Do I need more fuel in it or maybe I installed the wrong pump? Any ideas?

Did you get the lever from your fuel pump and the fuel pump rod installed correctly? It may not hurt to unhook the fuel line from the fuel pump that goes from the tank and see if you can get any fuel out of that line. Three gallons of gas should be enough if the car is relatively level to run the engine.

Thanks for the replies I think its probably something simple I will pull the pump back off on Sunday and double check the rod.
