Default flashers?

can some tell me if there is a trick to wiring up the turn signals. i have a 69 vette which i had partially stripped for body and paint, now i have put it together but the turn sirnals will not work. i chcked the fuse, the 4 way flashers and all other lights work. i dont know if there is another flasher unit or just the one in the fuse box. if you turn on either signal nothing happens the indicator lights inside do not even come on. if you turn the head tights on the indicator lights come on and the right one is twice as bright as the left. I have unplugged all the lights and still doing the same thing. please help me so i can get my refinished vette out of the garage and into a show. Thanks

I don’t know if this helps but it reads like a short in the system.
I had close to this same problem on my 73. It turned out that the side that had the bright light had a short in one of the wires by the socket where the bulb plugs in. But my other side worked. Sometimes I could make it work by wiggling the wires and eventually that didn’t even work. I ended up replacing the section of the wiring harness from the socket to where it plugs into the main wiring. harness. I got lucky someone was selling just what I needed when I needed it on Ebay

I don't know about a '69, but my '76 has two flashers. One is located on the fuse panel, and another is attached to a wire harness just under/behind the dash on the passenger side. I believe the turn signal flasher is the one on the pass. side.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

This is correct - yours (69) is just above the passenger courtesy lamp.
