Default 81 rear rotors

OK...I am pretty sure I know how....but thought I would ask first. What is best way to remove rear rotors. I have two shop manuals.....and neither says how....it just says remove rotors....and mentions drilling rivits, which are already gone on mine, but not a word more.

It's easy. Just be aware of the rear brake shoes might catch, and you may need to adjust the star bolt. easy.

If the rivits are already gone then rotor should slip off after you take caliper off away from rotor. If rivits are there you have to drill them out and thats a pain I thought but didnt take long. Good luck

thats right . if the rivets are gone than yes it should just slide staright off once your brake caliper is removed.

... and if the emergency brake shoes aren't catching inside! Make sure you mark the rotor & hub so that it can be fitted back in the same relative position. If you're fitting new rotors then I recommend getting a dti & shimming them to get runout within specs.

good remedy for stubborn rivets = air chisel. I had to deal with them on my front end when I replaced my ball joints. Be patient and they'll come off.
