Hard Start after sitting
I recently acquired a 1978 C3 Silver Anniversary. It has the L48 engine and the California version of the QuadraJet for that year. Runs great except......
If it sits for more than a day it won't start without a little gas or ether down the carburetor throat. Just a little of that and it starts right up and runs fine and will start again and again unless it sits for about 24-48 hours and then it will require a "prime" to start.
I do all my own work on cars but have never torn apart a Quadrajet. Would like to avoid doing so now if I can. Pareticularly as it runs so well once it starts. Is there something simple, like an accelerator pump, that can be serviced on the car that will clear up this problem?

Yup, I pump the gas, no go.
That thread from Lars certainly helps me understand the problem. Unfortunately it looks like there is no way of avoiding taking the carburetor apart.
