What's the best way to get pictures suitable for posting? Do you have to have a digital camera? Can you get your regular pictures developed to a disk? Is there a difference in the quality when it's posted? :flag

Re: First attempt at posting a picture (foundvettelifeisgood)
Hi Jay, looks good. I see you are already using the forum as a host. I started years ago with simple photos and a scanner. Worked Ok but not the best quality. If you're gettign a scanner---get a good one. I first had a Scanwave and it was crap---but I only paid $70 for it. A couple months ago I bought a HP scanner and it works like a dream.
I switched to a digital camera and now transfer the photos from the pic card directly to the PC. I edit the size, color etc and then upload to my forum site.
I had photo's developed on a 3.5 inch floppy once but wasn't impressed. I like the digital camera best so far. Sony's making a digital which records the image directly to a CD---$800 though.

I use a 35mm Canon and have the film transferred to CD's by Kodak. They come back in very high clear resolution and after downloading the CD to my hard drive I use my photo editor to resize them for posting. Works well enough for my needs since I don't want to spend $800+:smash: for a GOOD digital camera.
