For everyone plauged by alternator noise on your radio / tape player, today I installed a Custom Autosound noise eliminator in my 69. Having installed several other brands in the past, with no relief, I was doubtful this was going to work. But, after a quick (5 minutes) install, it has completely eliminated all alternator noise!!!!!!!! A true miracle.
I got mine from Corvette Central, but assume they are available from all the usual vendors.
Now I can listen to my iPod, when I can hear it over the exhaust, without irritating buzzzzzzzzzz in the background.
5 minutes sounds great. Exactly what is this magic device, and how do you install it???
a capacitor which simply connects to the power and ground terminals on your alternator. The toughest part of the job was deciding how I would suspend the can. For now, I have it tie wrapped into the wire bundle that branches off the fender towards the alternator. I'll probably try to hide it up on the fender now that I know it works.
