Default Hurst Competition Plus Shifter Installation Question

I have a Hurst Competition Plus shifter and installation kit that I wanted to put into my '70 Muncie 4-speed. But, when I removed the original shifter and tried to put the Hurst in, it would go up through the console all the way. The Hurst shifter handle to the shifter mechanism bracket was offset quite a bit (whereas the original shifter is relatively straight). I got the shifter from a friend who had it from his '69 Muncie Camaro...I thought the setup was the same, but obviously not. Of course, the Camaro doesn't have quite the shifter bracket housing the Vette has. Has anyone else encountered this? I'm trying to find out if there is a replacement bracket (for the shifter handle to the shifter mechanism), buit I haven't had any luck finding anything yet from Summit, Jegs, etc.

A 1969 Camaro Hurst shifter has nothing in common with a 1970 Corvette Hurst shifter... Crash

Their web site lists all the service parts for their shifters. Find the part # you need then go to Jegs or Summit.

Remove the factory shifter bracket. The Hurst is designed to mount directly to the transmission.

The shifter stick also has a about 10 - 15 degree bend in it at the base to center it in the console opening for our cars. The stick from the Camaro may just be a straight stick.

These bolt right up to the Comp Plus and keep the stock look.
Alnd they are offset at the bottom a bit.

My old Hurst shifter had an adapter plate for mounting to my Super T-10, not exactly sure what bracket would apply to the muncie. I dont have any pictures of the hurst I had on my muncie equipped camaro, but I'm sure it was different than the small one I had on the vette.
