68 neutral safety switch on manual car?
Finishing up my dash harness wiring and connecting the gauges for the last time.
All the 68 wiring diagrams and AIM show a neutral safety switch for automatics, I see no purple wires in my dash harness, but my pops swears there is some kind of clutch neutral safety switch somewhere. I see no switches on the clutch pedal (removed linkage at beginning of frame off, don't remember seeing any switches on it)
Is there a safety switch on the 68 muncie 4spd that would require you to push in the clutch to start the car???
Next question...I found my reverse lamp connector on the dash harness. Its not long enough to reach any firewall grommet to enter the engine compartment. Some diagrams and AIM show that female "V" shaped plug connecting to another male plug before the firewall then continueing down the trans tunnel. Does this connect to the muncie or to the shifter linkage? Can't find a single electrical connection or wire on the muncie itself. Might be a connection on my hurst shifter linkage but I have to dig that out of the garage. Any insight??
Last question, I have a "wiper switch solenoid" female 2 wire plug in my dash harness right behind the center gauge panel. Brown & black wires. This is not the connector that plugs into the wiper switch itself. Where does this damn thing go? its a short wire and I see no solenoids to connect it to. Anyone?
Pics for any of the above would be awsome.
I want to button up this dash and never have to touch it again.
Thanks in advance.

My 73 has a switch on the clutch pedal similar to the brake lite switch that keeps you from starting it whether tranny is in gear or not. Not sure on 68s tho.

Thanks guys!!!
Shmoky, that pic looks almost identical to the one I took as I started dismantling my dash. Thanks for posting as I was able to confirm I wasn't missing anything on the back of my center cluster.
Thanks everyone for confirming there is no clutch switch on my 68. I saw in the Hanes manual they had them on a 71 & 74 but couldn't find any of the mounting holes in my 68 so I figured it was another one of those great inventions that skipped the 1968 brain fart.
Thanks Dwncchs for posting the links and part #'s.
Thats exactly what i need for the reverse light.
Pain that I have to buy all those seperate peices from eklers. I'll try to find out if anyong offers a kit and for a cheaper price.
I did find the wiper solenoid on the back of my tach last night and hooked it up. But since I did away with my vacume system I don't think it makes a difference whether its connected or not.
Thanks guys
Btw, anyone know how to properly run the dash harness over or under the speedo/tach gauges? The AIM shows it on top. I did that last night but it is a reallllllly tight fit. Many of the lower bulb wires are at their limit with the harness all the way on top of the gauges.
