Pulley size help
Can anyone tell me what the stock sizes for crankshaft, waterpump power steering and alternator are?
I have no a/c (been removed by previous owner). One belt is running crankshaft / power steering. The other belt is running crankshaft, water pump and alternator.
I am having "issues" with the upgrade of my alternator from SI to CS144. Current belt won't go on as the alternator swings up and hits my tall valve covers. Next size up belt is way too long, alternator swings back too far and makes the belt rub on the power steering pump shaft.
Current belt is 12.7mm wide by 10mm deep and outside diameter of 1400 mm (SPAX or XPA) cogged belt. Next size available is a 1432mm outside diameter which won't do.
Any ideas? I'm thinking maybe aftermarket pulleys are incorrect and possibly the reason why the old belt won't go on.
Thanks for any help
anyone else have any ideas? measured the diameters of water pump and alternator pulleys, 156mm (6 1/4 inch) and 70mm (2 3/4 inch). I cant get to the crank pully as the 3rd groove (power steering) is smaller then the other 2 grooves and i couldnt take it off tonight.
this one has really got me
Tried that, took the cover right off got the belt as tight as I can but can't get the tall valve cover back on. Ordered a couple of cheapo short covers that would work with my original belt it seems.
At least I can get it going I guess until I find some nice ones
Thanks for your input
