Default Radiator Insulation

Hi All,

Any one know a source for adhesive backed insulation to go between the shroud and radiator. I am looking for a fairly dense insulation/sealing medium that will tolerate heat. This is not for a stock radiator or shroud.

Many thanks,

Ken

At Wal-Mart and most hardware stores they sell window A/C unit insulation that's usually adhesive backed and comes in several lengths, thicknesses, and some come in rolls.

I used dense pipe insulation bought from Lowes and 3M weatherstrip adhesive (the yellow stuff)

Hi,

I bought some of the A/C foam insulation but after opening it up, it didn't look like it would hold up. The dense pipe insulation sounds more like what I am looking for.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Ken

Another way to attach the pipe insulation is with double-sided tape. I used golf grip tape for a couple of weeks years ago while I was waiting for my Doc Rebuild set of radiator seal to arrive. If you want to do it right and look good, consider Doc Rebuild's kits.

I would normally use a kit but since this is not an original radiator or shroud, I doubt that the cut to fit would work.

Thanks again,

Ken
