Carb numbers and Jets----(LARS or others)
I finally found some NOS 73k primary rods for my stock QJ; 1979 L-82, 350 w/ headers, and Dart 2.02 Iron Eagle heads .
so; now I can take the Edelbrock primary rods and jets out, and go back stock if I desire.....but I have two other carbs now to choose from.
OK....so far so good....
I also picked up a used Edelbrock spread-bore carb from a race boat equipped with a Pontiac 455 (its not a boat carb, it just so happen to be on one.
Edelbrock carb # :
Also got another carb in the deal
Its a spread-bore Carter in a QJ style with "Quadrajet" on the side by the numbers.
What I need is:
What the heck is that Carter from?....year?...size?
(I was told at the time this was for a 283, 327 or a 409 school bus or possibly dump truck...I don't necessarily believe that)
What about the Edelbrock?.....size 750 CFM?
Thanks,
Jim

The Edelbrock 1904 is a new Q-Jet, 750 cfm.
The Carter is just a Q-Jet made by Carter because Rochester could not supply demand. 750 cfm also.
All in all, you have a couple of good parts carbs. Be aware, the Edelbrock carbs all use the fat tip truck rods. Not the best for performance.
