Brake Conversion on a 73
If so what is the estimated cost and how difficult was it or did you have a mechanic do the work?
Also any remendations to a nearby shop or where to buy the conversion kit?
Also If you happen to have pics of the process please post.
Thanks everyone.

Does your car have power steering? If so, it would be an easy install for you to install a hydraulic power brake assist unit that runs off of the power steering system to give you a better than vacuum braking system.
The Hydrobooster mounts where the vacuum booster would go using a custom mounting plate designed to mount a four stud booster to your two bolt firewall.
Then, all you need is a high pressure line going from the pump to the Hydrobooster and a return line going back to the pump. It'll improve your brakes 100% and everything you need can be had for around the same price as a vacuum setup...maybe even cheaper.
It does have power steering, so maybe I will check going that route.
Any suggestions as to types or brand hydroboosters?
Also do you think a minor skilled mechanic like myself can tackle this job?
Well, Hydroboosters were made to be installed in all of the big three car maker's cars. They were very popular in GM heavy trucks and for a while they were prevalent in the small vans and mid size cars. Great system.
Yes you can do the install when you consider a lot of guys here have done this swap and there is a lot of information on the process.
