Default More power for my '76 L48

What's a good "total power package" I could put on a '76 L48? I know this is a pretty broad question, but I'm looking to get the car between 300 and 400 hp (keeping it naturally aspirated). I know Edelbrock has some "total power packages" but I'm new to corvettes and I'd like to get some opinions from the pros! I've already put a set of hedman headers and a 2.5" dual exhaust on the car (removed the cat too) and that helped a bunch. Any suggestions? Thanks!

The first thing that you need to realize is that a Corvette engine is no more than a standard small block Chevy.

Next, are you looking for just a top end kit or are you planning on pulling the engine and swapping pistons, etc.? If you are just doing the top end, you need to get something that will give you a decent compression ratio with your existing dish pistons and deep deck clearance. There are some members that have purchased the top end kits from Edelbrock and Holley, and you can probably do a search to find some results.

If you don't go with a kit, there are plenty of people that can steer you towards a great combination of parts.

Sounds like you at least want to spend enough for aluminum heads.
If I were doing it I would skip the edelbrock/ holley kits and use
the Ik180 brodix heads. www.brodix.com, keep the Q-jet to save
some bucks its plenty big enough for what you want to do and
use the EDL-7104 high rise manifold and a drop base air cleaner.
If you want to keep the stock air cleaner you will have to use
the low rise EDL-2101. For a cam the Summit cams are a bargain
SUM-K1103 or 1104 but if money is not tight I would split the
difference between the two summit cams duration and use a cam
with around 218 at .050 Int. duration. something like this Crane or you
could use another brand.
Crane cam and lifters # 113522
Power range 1800-5800
Int. dur. .050, 218
ex. dur. .050, 230
adv. int. dur. 268
adv. ex. dur. 280
LSA 112
Int.lift .459
ex. lift ..486
advised compression ratio 8.75 to 10.75
There are some other brands with the same duration
with slightly more lift.

Close to 300 => all you need is a cam change.
Close to 400 => now you need a package with intake, heads, cam, possibly piston.

What exactly are you looking for?

Default See my build

in my signature ... it shows how I upped the power on my '76! I could have built more power into it, but as for now it's got 275 HP to the rear wheels so I figure it's gotta have ballpark of 325 HP at the crank.
