And boy did it take a chunk out of the old wallet  . Ordered the other 3 16x8 torque thrust 2's from Summit after varifying that the one I ordered previously cleared all the calipers and ordered some Dunlop SP Sport 8000's 245/50r16 for the front and 255/50r16's for the rear from Tire Rack. I second day'd everything so hopefully I'll be able to put it all together at work on Saturday, now if the tires just clear everything I'll be OK. Now maybe I'll start to get this big block car to handle a little bit, albeit I still need some shocks and springs to go. I'm now going to have a couple of beers to get over the amount of money I just spent :yesnod:
Be sure to post some pics once there on. Think they will look awesome with that color. Do you have any interest in selling your old wheels? I've been trying to find some stock wheels for my 81 but not much luck. Is the only difference between yours and an 81 the black centers? If thats just painted I think I could have them stripped to look like an 81.
Dennisr, I'll let you know if they become available. I've got about 3 friends that have shown interest in them, but you know how those sometimes work out so if they don't want them I'll give you first shot. I believe the black is just painted over the aluminum, so they should polish out.
I might sell you my stock rims (1980 -- they have 275 60 R15's mounted on them ALL AROUND :-) I'll see if I can take some pictures tomorow . . .
Let me know if you are still interested . . . . I could email you pictures of the vette . . . but you can't really see the rims from that distance

Re: Just ordered new wheels and tires (73 LS-4)
I felt the same way when I bought my wheels & tires.....sort of that sickening, "what did I do now" feeling in my stomach. The feeling of depression soon wained once I got them installed
Re: Just ordered new wheels and tires (1970 Stingray)
Yep, that solves it. TTIIs for my Vette. 1970 Stingray, that is one sharp looking ride you have there. I wasn't sure how they would look on a vette but now I'm convinced.
I've said it once and I'll say it again: THIS FORUM ROCKS!
I hope to have some pics up soon, I can't believe how much more attention the car gets with the wheels and tires, it got quite a bit of attention before but nothing like it does now.
