I took the clamps off of my mufflers, but the pipes are rusted together and I can't break them apart, I've used WD-40 and another spray that's supposed to work on rust but neither did any good. I don't have access to a torch or anything so I can't heat them up, any ideas on how to get it loose?
Depends on what you want to do with the mufflers. If you're planning to reuse them... try inserting a screwdriver or some other flat, instrument into the gap and spraying the heck out of it with penetrating oil. Let it sit an hour and lightly tap around the pipe with a rubber mallet.
If your trashing the mufflers.... cut em off with a reciprocating saw or hack saw... or better yet... take em to a muffler shop. They'll cut em with a torch. :smash:
Hey I've got that problem too, but just on one. It appears to be a replacement pipe. It has had a mounting tab welded on but nothing at the seam has been welded. Now that I've got other things fixed I need to get it off( I dont think it has a muffler in it  )
You don't need a torch to apply heat. Harbor Freight sells a $20 heat gun which is just a super hair dryer.Great for stripping paint on metal and heating
rusty old exhaust pipes. Also good for applying thermal coatings.Don't aim it at fiberglass :mad .
if you dont want to re use the mufflers rent a saw zal... better yet buy one, i used one to cut my old exhaust sytem down, the whole thing took less than 10 minutes
