I've got a set of Firestone Firehawk SS20s (255/60-15) on my '82. I'm very pleased with them, including very good wet traction. Unfortunately there isn't a lot of choices in the 15 inchs sizes anymore. The next time I need tires, I'll probably upgrade to 17 inch wheels first.

What do you want to do with the tires? Are you looking for something round and black to hold the car off the ground? A max performance tire? A soft riding tire?
My educated answer is: It depends :)

Well since my car is stock, I probably won't be doing any racing any time soon. I'm just looking for a good tire that i can get a bit racey with and something that will handle good all around. I'm not looking to do much (if any) drag racing.

I love the set of 5 Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires I bought.
They are 225 70 15's, and come installed on Jaguars (or so the salesperson said).
The have a rating of Treadwear 260, Traction A, Temperature A and Z rated (149 mph- I think).
They cost me around $160 per tire.
They have a ridged or textured blackwall, with no white lettering, but they do look sweet and shiny with the tire dressing on.
The best part was their handling. When those tires were new, I could snap the wheel and turn the car 90 degrees at around 40 mph! I would be tossed around in the cockpit, but the tires didn't squeal or scruff (guess I need better seatbelts  )
I've got good wet traction with these too.
Only problem is....
<expletitive> Goodyear has cancelled the manufacturing of these tires, and the available stock in warehouses is dwindling. :mad :mad
If these tires were still in production, I would greatly recommend them to you guys looking for cornering, high speed, and traction from your tires.

Mine are generic (I think), but I love them, and they are quiet, corner very well, and have good wet traction. They are "Futura's, 255/60/15 's ". Highly recommend, and I will rebuy them if I can find them.

I have the BFG 255/60 as well. No problem getting them like metioned above, I think summit even sells them.
