Just bought a 1969 vert without tilt steering, what years will fit and still look stock.
Also, how hard a job is it to re & re the column,is this a straight switch out?
Lastly, anyone have a tilt column for sale?
By the way,the column is black.
Thanks to all.
The columns are higher a cat's back in price, take your breath away....but the late shark ones are cheeper, last I found, and the smaller wheel is a easy swapover at any rate, they all bolt up, except the lateer columns have a thicker shroud and don't fit the dash, I fudged my column shroud, not so difficult, been in there 12 years now...
I even pulled it back toward me about 3/4 inch off the firewall for comfort...I drive with a single handed sloutch, left hand on wheel leaning on right elbow...lazy and getting worse.....
As always, there's an answer to any question on this forum, thanks to all who replied.
I'll put in a call to the wrecking yards and see if I can scare up a 69-76 column.
Final thought, any aftermarket for this item?
