stupid distributor question for a distributor bubba like me

okay so theres a slot on the bottom of the distributor shaft that has a horizontal bar in it.... so the distributor shaft can only go in 2 ways right???

so when i put it back in with the engine undisturbed it will be either right or 180 degrees wrong??? (+ the fine tuning by turning the dist body advance-retard....)

am i right about this ???

i am so tired right now i dont even wanna look at it...

thats why im posting..

im black with oil from head to toe right now..
