Default 1979 Wiper switch

Hey all, I found out I am in need of a wiper switch for the 79. Once again everything comes up as first design and second design but the online sites don't as they just say 78-82 on the switch but Ecklers, MAM and Zip do not have the switch in stock. I talked with the GM dealer we always buy our parts for the shop from and he said the first design is discontinued but the second design is not(cost me $43). Will the second design work ok for my 79? I would really rather buy a new one rather than a used switch, heck I already have a used one

Thanks again guys

I bought mine from the dealer and it worked fine. They didn't call it a first or second just replacement.

I believe the switch is the same size and post layout. The early switch is chrome pot metal, the switch available now is plastice. Should be just fine.
