Yeh, I hear you, but I use a common replacement rad from an '89? Camaro V8...same core size, essentially a bolt in, and Tom DeWitts dual spal setup....in Florida....with a warmed over 350 engine...headers...
the car runs fine even in 140 road temps....I know it's over 100f pushing 105f in the shade...U guess what that road is in direct sunlight traffic jambs....gotta be 140, alls I know is, I ain't jumping out there to see....

I"m saying them Spals will raise hell under there, regular hurry caine...
IF you wear a wig, hat, head gear DO NOT lean over in front of the car...

I have her under control now so to spreak , but I really figured she would run a lot cooler with the 4 flew radiator thats in it now .
I think the word may be flue, i.e. fireplace flue.

All good...I just didn't see the comment until now. The past few weeks have been nuts...

And it was funny.

I backed the timming down today a couple of degrees and it seemed to help a little . Guage is showing 210 on an average today . The Pinging lightened up too .

pinging on hard acceleration is too much advance and not a good thing.

A perfect example is .... both armrest were bought last summer . Both broke and crumbled where they bolt to the door at the very top where you are to pull it to shut the door . Went through 3 hood cables from Ecklers in less than a year . Finally made my own stainless cable and it will probably last for life .

The folks selling us parts for our vettes ought to be ashamed for they know they are ripping the public off !

And that won't change unless you complain to the vendor.

Cap , is an expensive cap ... and it is fine . The cap isnt the problem .

The overheating problem is cured pretty much . I may add an electric fan to the outside of the radiator if really needed .

And its not going to change either because the American way now is " Get the Buck " not " Produce Quality " . Ive cut all ties with doing business with Ecklers , I'm done with those folks . Its not that I've had any problems getting a defective part replaced with them , its that they will send another one just as messed up . I'm tired of the inconvienence of dealing with them . In all actuality , if I'd known that the parts available to me were so cheaply made ... I'd never have bought this vette to build . VBP so far , are the only people Ive delt with that have sent me a great product . I love the ride my vette has now .

Complaining to a vendor is only a waste of time .
