Anyone Do an LT1 Swap?
Hey guys, I ended up buying an LT1/4L60 combo off a friend. Everything is there including wiring harness. They came out of a 96 Impala SS with 50,000 on it. My question is, has anyone done this swap that i could bombard with questions? I'm an auto tech with about 10 years experience, so I know what I'm doing, I just need to find out particulars like fuel system upgrades, transmission fitment, and ignition questions. There are several who have done it. Do an advanced search on LT1 swap. You can also look for TPI swap as it is similar except you have to use LT1 accessories on an LT1 where TPI can use stock. Also locating the MAF sensor complicates intake plumbing. If you search on my username and TPI you should find my TPI "primer" which should be useful. Dr Jay also recently had step-by-step on a TPI install.
