where the triangular shaped foam insulation pieces belong. I took them out so long ago I can't remember the exact location. The AIM isn't very specific & nothing is making sense at the moment. I know they belong against the toe board along the frame.

My 79 had triangular foam pieces, they fit between the fender and the steel inner reinforcement right at the side of the front support of the firewall (between the support and the fender.
However I believe a 70 had different type of insulators...
