Default Possibly a bad spindle?

Pulled the hub off and found this. I think that the spindle is kaput, but I am looking for a second opinion.. One is the right spindle, the other the left...

Thanks!

Take some fine sandpaper and run it over like an old tyme shoe shine guy...or polishing a copper pipe for sweating....use something fine....no worse than say 400 grit....see if it polishes up nice without a whole lot of effort...

may want to take some carb cleaner to it first, hard to tell from a pix,but it maybe just a grease stain, and nothing to worry over....

I would use carb cleaner then hit it with polishing compound. Don't look bad. If there are no grooves your good to go.

I agree with these guys, nothing to really worry about as long as the spinle isn't bent. Remember, the bearing does not run on the spindle, it runs on the race. You should have seen the one on my 77, the inner bearing race was broken when I got it and the spingle was galled badly, I cleaned it up with some jewelers file and put in new bearings, good to go

Well that's good to know.. The stain doesn't come off with cleaner so I am going to use some emery cloth.. Thanks for the technical advice!!!
