Hey Theo, how's it going? You can't go using words like "spanner" on here you know!
Alright guv'nor?! I'm ok thanks, yourself? Sorry, WRENCH
You know it took me bloody ages to work out what the hell a "Box wrench" was, kept seeing it referred to in manuals and forum threads. I was really quite disappointed when I realised it's just a boring old ring spanner. Not really sure what it's got to do with boxes? Anyone care to enlighten us?
Well, depending on HOW exactly she knackered you!
I can see your thinking, but being as it mainly means "worn out" or "tired", I guess she could just as well have knackered you by making you mow the lawn or re-roof the shed. I'm guessing that's not it though..

Well, it involved a lot of yelling and smacking, but that doesn't really clear it up, though. Same thing happens when she makes me take out the trash...

Yep, it's the same the world over.....
Hi Theo,
Doing fine, thanks mate, but with 3 different jobs on the go I'm feeling a bit knackered!
It also took me a while to work out what a box wrench was because I thought it was what we call a box spanner. So what's a box spanner called in the US (a box spanner being a tube with each end pressed to form a hex, eg 1/2" AF at one end & 7/16" AF at the other, with some holes through it to allow the use of a Tommy bar)? It's not often used, but when it is, it's invaluable. Not knowing this makes me feel a bit of a spanner
An American spanner is, I think, what we'd call a peg spanner?
