Friend of mine gave up on her after Katrina put water in her. I changed oil and seals, tranny flush and filter, new brakes and hoses, aded true duals with flowmaster 40s. Now 6 month old battery dead and engine does not turn over yet liths work and horn. Any suggestions?
Starter could be shot. Are you getting power to starter? You may want to take all the plugs out and see if you can turn the motor. This will tell you if its free or frozen.
When you say Katrina put water in her, that doesn't tell us much. Was the car under water or was water up to the motor. Moter detail helps.

take out the plug and try by hand. if that doesnt work, you might get lucky and put some sort of penetrant in there and let it sit for a few days. good luck

Water up to the motor for about a week.Fresh tune up on motor. The car started the other day and I have been doing a little driving and testing and still have not found why it would not turn over the other day.

The car started the other day so I drove it around and still can not find why it would not turnover.
My '78 would fail to start on occasion and the problem was a poor ground from the main battery cable (attaches to the frame under the driver seat). Undo the bolt, clean off the frame then tighten up the connection. I actually ended up welding the cable to the frame since the threads for the bolt were shot and the connection wouldn't stay tight.
My 78 had poor ground like gdm78vette. Starter was also bad, and during replacment found a fuse link in the wiring to the starter had melted away, and wire pulled right out of the connection. I replaced the fuse link with a wire crimp. I know that is risky, but I have no problems starting the engine.
