Default Rear gear ratio
I have a 78 with a posi rear. Is there any identification on the car that will tell me the rear gear ratio?

Axle codes are stamped on the bottom of the differential carrier housing just forward of the cover.

OK =3.08:1
OM =3.36:1
OH =3.55:1
OJ =3.70:1

The codes may not be visible. Rotate the rear wheel ONE revolution and count the number of rotations of the propeller shaft.
