Default Clutch woes

I can't seem to get my '73 4 spd into gear. The shifter works through the gears just like normal, but when I step on the gas, nothing. It won't even stall out. It was slipping pretty bad last time I drove it. Still most likely the clutch? Thanks

Is there any freeplay in the pedal?
Is there any adjustment left on the clutch linkage?

Is the driveshaft still there?

No freeplay. I'm putting it up on a lift tomorrow, so what all should I check after linkage before I start dismantling my car.

No freeplay will cause the clutch to slip and fail.

You want to have the linkage adjusted so the first 1" of pedal pad travel is free play. You can use a tape measure to the floor and press with your fingers to see how far it travels before it gets stiffer and harder to push down any farther without a lot of force.

Most likely. These kind of things usually don't heal themself.

Thanks for the advice. I had already bought a new one anyways. Unproductive day though, only got so far as taking out the driveshaft. Since you've (CTZR1) already done the job, do you have any pointers or advice? I have the Chilton's and factory service manuals.
