I am new to the Forum and need assiatance. Power locks on my 81 Corvette will lock both doors from drivers side, but will not unlock from drivers side or lock or unlock from passenger side. Please advise.
First thing to do is check the contacts on the back of the switches. That requires removing the door panels. Open them up and you will probably find loose, bad or corroded contacts on the back of the switch. This might require new pigtails for the switches, not a real bad job

The second step (while you have the door panels off) would be to check the mechanical operation of the door-locking hardware. My '81 had badly gummed up moving parts. I thoroughly cleaned and lubricated all the moving parts. That fixed my problem; luckily my lock switches were in good shape.
Sixfooter,
Thanks for the assist on power door lock problem. Removed door panels, cleaned connector and and switch terminals. Works great!! Rewrapped harness for good measure. Also took advice from forum member GT1981 and cleaned and lubed all lock hardware, window regulator and door latch wear points.

Sixfooter - Where did you get the wiring diagram that you posted? Do they have them available for 1979. I am going crazy trying to figure out how the Power door locks and anti-theft system are interconnected.
