People with carbs have been lifting motors with a plate bolted down with 4 5/16 bolts at the carb flange for years. Even big blocks. I would not worry about the Happy Hooker. I just would"nt want to kiss her.

being a cheeep bastard I just use a piece of 3/8 thick welded chain up and over off the heads/block as needed shorten the length down, and hook it up and over.....IMO, the trick is having a large enough hook, not any lifting aids...I never have used any of that complicated crap I see other guys have...been doing engines for 40 years....
