i have the jegs bracket you mentioned on my vet and a holley one on another car - both on demon 750,s . both brackets are almost identical( holley slightly more kickdown adjustment) and work great. i have a 3 inch drop base air cleaner and no clearance issues at all. i wouldnt use anything else personally.here is a picture of both.
Those look great. My concern is my throttle cable not having the "square" shape to fit in the rear part of the bracket. I'm thinking maybe I should just get a Lokar cable that has that ability so I can go with this bracket.

you can't tell in the picture flyviper but i had to file away a little metal where my throttle cable slides into the bracket-from memory i think that was the silver bracket i had to modify slightly due to my throttle cable..... keep this a secret please but its a ford throttle cable . you might have to just order the bracket that you think will suit you best but dont worry too much if its not perfect or you cant make it work as you can buy the small removable cable connections seperatly and they are quite cheap compared to the initial outlay of the complete bracket.
i will try and dig up a picture of the connections that red holley bracket has for you.
ok im back with an edit and that picture. its not a great pic but i can now see its the same style of connection as my vet throttle cable. the rubber gromet just slides down into the groove where as the corvette one( or should i say ford) has two nuts that can tighten it up.

I ended up getting the jegs bracket and a lokar cable. Cost me about a $100 (the same amount I got in a Jegs gift certificate...score!). I should get it next week, but I think it should work well based on what I've read here. Thanks for all the help guys and merry Christmas!
Got it all installed. Looks good and it was pretty easy to do. I'll take pictures when I get a chance. One question though for gingerbread, I'm assuming you had to bend your pedal a bit to get full travel (that's the only way I see it happening). How much did you? I can only get about 80% throttle right now with everything adjusted as best I can.

Glad to see you have solved your problem.
A simple way to keep a throttle bracket from turning is to put a star washer between the bracket and the carb and it won't turn.
Good tip...it wasn't moving yesterday, but probably a good thing to do to prevent such a thing in the future, especially when I'm not watching it.
Also one thing I thought of that may be helpful. I can take a picture later, but the lokar cable comes with a clevis on the end of the cable. The standard GM cable only uses the ball end on the cable and a grommet. Well yesterday while messing with it I broke the 38 yr old plastic grommet. After 5 min of thinking how I could do this without having to order a new grommet, I thought of the fix. Take the clevis part you're not going to use anyways and cut off one of the little "flaps" with the hole in it. Slide the cable through that, then through the hole at the top of the pedal...works like a champ. Sure it's a little Bubba, but no problems I can see and it's such a small part you won't even know it's there. And it's metal, so it's not going to fail like the little plastic grommet.
