Default radiator fans-- need input

I would like to put electric fans on my 68' BB -- core width 22.5 x 17 tall. Ecklers sells one but it is 27'' wide. Is anyone running dual electric fans on a 68' BB? If so where did you get em?

Dewitts, a supporting vender here has the dual spal fans that will fit your application.

Greg.

You should be able to find a pair of 10" fans on Ebay or somewhere, maybe fab your own shroud. Probably some shrouded 10"s out there too. SPALL is the brand everyone recommends. For control, use relays of the PWM controller. keep away from the spall controller, it dies early

Will the electric fans be enough to cool the 427 with a stock radiator?

The '68 22.5 inch core presents a problem....most dual fan units are too wide. The factory mechanical is ok if sealed correctly.

The problem with that model radiator is that it's 22.5" wide and the Spal duals are 23.5". That's why we make the SP022 custom package but you can only get it as a complete package (radiator and fans).
When radiators are sqaure shape I recommend a single and when they are rectangle, I recommend a dual and yours is kinda in between. You should benefit a lot from a single 16" as the air flow is 2360 cfm and the duals are 2760.
I'd use this kit http://www.dewitts.com/pages/product...asp?ProdID=321

I don't have the shroud or fan as this car is a complete resto from a basket case. The after market fan and shroud combo would be money ahead--I think?

Thanks for the input, but is that 16" fan going to need a shroud to be effective?

Thanks for the input Tom. I decided to order the sp022 as this seems like the best way to go. Thanks again

If you a a copper radiator it will probably work about the same as a shroud and engine fan. If you have an aluminum radiator, it will work fine.
