As I just cant leave well enough alone, I am thinking about getting rid of my 85mph speedo ...... in the quest for a 165mph (saw ecklers had such a conversion) .... but not willing to spend $200 + 2-3weeks for it ...
They are usually SO overpriced and I have to think there are better alternatives out there ..... so if this is something you have already gone through, jump in and give me the benefit of your experience

Nice info, 6'r.
Unless you're really going to go over 140mph, I'd suggest doing that one. Wish I had never swapped mine for the 165. Chunky graphics make it more difficult to read than necessary. Not a precision looking instrument, at all. If I ever do a 200, I'm going to pay good attention to that detail.
There is a guy in Tenn. that operates a company called Redline Clock and Gauge I've spoken to him on the phone about changing my speedo. He has the correct corvette emblem for 80/82 and speedo face for really reasonable price. You can buy one alredy to go or have yours refurbished with the 140 mph face. here is the #1-800-375-2310
