My problem is that i was told my carb was bad so i got a rebuilt 1. so the problem i've been having is when i put the car in drive or rev the car stalls anyone have any idea what it could be don't want to go back to that shop that told me it was the carb. any help would be great i was thinking maybe it might be the fuel pump but not sure or a vac thing.

Well, fill out your profile so we know who ya are and what ya got.
There are SO many things that can be hosed up on a rebuilt off the shelf carb its hard to know where to start.
Post the number on the side of the carb and a few pics so we can take a look

Also, do you still have the carb that you took off the car or did you exchange it for the core charge?

Perhaps on the outside.

Can you post the stamped numbers of both carbs?
They can be found stamped vertically on the drivers side and should begin with 170 or 70 as shown in the pic below.
Also any pics of the new carb mounted would help greatly as far as vacuum connection concerns go.

Where did you buy the replacement from and do you know the name of company that rebuilt it?

Thats insane!
Theres a local guy here that does them for under $200 and they are top quality.

Please post pics of the carb showing all of the vacuum hookups if possible.
Other than the engine stalling when put in gear, how does it drive?
Is it ok at cruising speed?
Is it ok at wide open throttle ect?

Also I highly recommend that you read this paper written by forum member Lars
