Default changing door locks.....maybe

I recently bought a new set of locks for just my doors (the guy before me only changed one....so you needed 2 keys for 2 doors! ) So could someone point me in the right direction on how to get at them? Looks like i might need to remove the window? I've done an archive search, and wasn't able to find anything. Maybe it is regarded as too simple of a job to post.... :conehead :conehead Thanks all...

I don't think you'll need to remove the window---I didn't. I had the window up and removed the door panel. That's a job in itself---good luck. On the lock itself there is a tab which protrudes perpendicular to the door. I used lOOOOng nose pliers to move this tab side-ways away from the lock---it slides. You'll also need to remove the clip from the lever and rod.

Getting the new clip in is a little tricky---you might want to get another hand to hold the lock in place while you insert(slide) the new clip. Good Luck

i have found that i can put two fingers on the new retainer clip of the lock by pulling the outside door handle...

one finger goes through the holes that the outside door handle space has....

this way you can put enough pressure on it to install the lock clip..

btw:: install the new door lock pawl onto the door lock while its outside of the car (and retaining clip)... itll all fit through the door lock hole.
