tokk 79 L48 out for the first time the other day... went out this morning and noticed ALOT of PS Fluid on the garage floor. (btw what a PITA to clean up) No fluid in the pump. Fluid is not coming from pump resevoir. Both hoses are wet. I haven't looked at the shop manual yet, Just curious how big of a pain this will be to replace the hoses.
I have seen mention of a rebuild kit for the control valve also. Where can I get one of those?
Also any other areas of concern I should look into while I got it up in the air?

GET A REBUILT LEAVE THE REBUILDING TO THE PROS.....
rebuilding the control valve is not that bad. I bought my rebuld kit from the local Chevy dealership I thunk it was like 25 bucks and took about 2 hours to pull out rebuild and put back in. The hardest part was adjusting it when I was done. The hoses from the valve to the assist cylinder will have to be undone to remove the valve. The other hoses to and from the pump are easy to get to wih everything else apart.
There was no warning at all. I never had a leak in 2 years and then BANG there's at least half a quart of fluid on the floor. I have looked at control valve and it is dry. Should be able to pick some new hoses in the morning.
I steam cleaned my components and thought it was just the hoses. Then the ram cylinder. After a few days of driving I found both the control valve and power steering pump were also leaking.
If you have a little time and average mecahical skills, you can rebuild all the parts youself. Before you just do the hoses because you think that's where the leaks are, check all your components carefully.
Although it is not difficult, you only want to do this once.
