Whistling noise

Hello. New day, new problem. My 1980 emits a whistling noise when I put it in reverse. The sound - more like a high pitched squeal, stops when I put it in drive or park. New u-joints. Any ideas? Thanks! jg700

What part of the car is the noise coming from? Tail lights, tranny or headlights?
Does it do it when stopped or rolling?

When sitting still in reverse?--- If you mean rolling in reverse-my guess would be parking brake upper spring broken and dropped down and rubbing on rotor.

Sitting or moving it whistles from beneath - I can't tell where its coming from, but assume it has to do with the tranny/drivetrain.
