Default Tremec Transmission Yoke

I have put a Tremec 5-speed in my '63 and I'm trying to get a driveshaft made. But none of the shaft vendors seem to have the Quick Disconnect trans Yoke. Does anyone know who makes a 1310 quick disconnect, 31-spline transmission yoke? I see that there is a 1350 available, but I have heard that there is no room for this larger yoke.

Thanks,

I have done 2 or these swaps without the quick change yoke. Just use a flapper wheel and clean out the inside of the yoke so that the cups from the universal are a hand press fit. It only takes a minute with the flapper wheel on a dremel tool and the yoke caps pop right in by hand.'
After this just assemble the universal under the car with by hand or a light hammer. Works fine.
You do NOT need the tight press fit for a cap to function properly.

The guys on the C2 forum pointed out that Keisler makes a 1330 QR yoke. I assume 1330 is smaller than 1350, and will fit in the tunnel without issue?

I am no specialist. Is this what your looking for

If it is Keisler has it.

Google Midwest Driveshaft in St. Charles IL. They wil have what your looking for.

My keisler came with the yoke in your picture. IMO the 1330 is fine. I also think that the 1350 would also have plenty of clearance on my 79

gkull,

Would you happen to have any pictures showing the shaft up in the tunnel?

Found the following with regard to the differences between 1310, 1330 and 1350. Seems 1330 and 1350 are very simliar, which concerns me with regard to tunnel clearance with the 1330.

The 1310 series u-joint measures approximately 3 1/4 inches wide. The 1330 and 1350 both measure approximately 3 5/8 wide. The 1310 and 1330 series can have cap diameters of 1 1/16 and/or 1 1/8 inch or a combination of both sizes. The 1350 series has a cap diameter of 1 3/16 inch and the body and journals are bigger than the 1310 or 1330. Remember 1350 is almost never found in production car driveshafts.

This is my 1330 yoke and u-joint with 1350 billet cap to show the diameter size difference.
No doubt a 1350 would go right in. 1350 is the same length with just bigger ends

This the clearance - not the best shot because I was holding the camera out at arms length under the car

I found the Keisler 2 piece yoke to be a tight fit in my '72 tunnel.

That does look tight, very tight.
Keisler makes two versions. Do you know if you have the 1330 or 1350?

I'm pretty sure I have the 1330, I don't recall a 1350 being available two years ago when I did mine, yes it's tight but it does work w/o clearance problems and worth the expense.

The yoke above is the one I have in my 73 and it is very tight. But, I am very happy with the Kiesler. Lower RPM, better mileage, quieter, etc, etc. But, everything is tight.

As stated above, the 1310 u-joint measures 3.250 across tha caps and has a 1.0625 cap diameter. The 1330 measures 3.625 across the caps and has 1.0625 cap diameter. Then 1350 measures 3.625 across the caps and has a 1.1875 cap diameter.
The yoke that we send out with a vette kit is the 1310 strap style. About 2 years ago, we were using the 1330 strap style but found that the clearance was extremely tight. I have heard of a few guys using a 1350 strap style but I have no idea how they fit it in the tunnel.
We do have the 1310 strap style available for $99.

It appears to me that there was tunnel design change in 1978 and later C-3 Vettes. Just look at the pictures above. Shafrs3 tranny yoke is down in the narrow tunnel and mine is out in the larger open area.

Please advise,

I don't think the part is listed on our website but the part number is DSAP-6150X and sales corrected me, they are $139.00 unless you've bought our kit, then they are $99. Sorry about the confusion.
You can see a picture of it here

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
